Concept Brief

What is Every File?

"Every File" is the bold claim that no possible file state is too small, too strange, or too useful to document. We start at a single byte and progressively expand into recovery, refinement, and invented-but-plausible file states.

Core unit

The foundation is one byte represented in binary form, beginning with b00000000.

Expansion model

We iterate from simple file states to larger combinations, documenting each stage like a formal launch program.

Narrative format

Each file state gets context: why it exists, what it solves, and where it fits in the broader file universe.

Outcome

A living archive that is equal parts technical documentation, product narrative, and high-commitment startup theater.
